But, I do wonder if this is just us shifting back and forth between extremes. I don't necessarily see anything wrong with using chat tools for advice if you're using them to flush out your thoughts. And all of this is so new that we really don't know how it's going to play out in the end. Obviously AI is going to get more and more normalized (although we have no idea what that end game looks like right now) and there are always going to be edge cases where people marry and have full relationships with these tools. The question is if it's going to be the norm or the outlier.
I met my partner on Match back in the early 2000s so we were early adopters of these apps. But they have certainly changed over time and not necessarily for the better.
